Taleex Encounter and Khatumo State

Recently, the Taleex encounter-Khatumo2, of Dhulbahante family had declared to form a new Somalia state that is called Khatumo state that will be independent from Somaliland and Puntland.
This was a setback to Somaliland government who have been claiming that these regions are under its authority and as well Puntland which had the same argument. The situation seems that a third hand had already intervened the long-disputed areas of East-Sanag, South Sool and Buhodle of Togdher.
The Sool-community who had long been separated by the various states of Somaliland and puntland had increased their dilemma and division over their authority and fate and added another influencer to their already problem of division.
Somaliland’s response to intervene militarily in some areas was necessary but has its negative consequences which are that the local people of Buhodle and Sool will see the Somaliland army forces as an occupier who is going to colonize them.
Puntland who is not also happy with the outcome of the Khatumo-2 encounter did not do much against but has expressed their concern and disappointment over the Khatumo state.
Therefore, most of the people who were driving the Khatumo encounter were from outside Somaliland and Somalia, they were Somali Diaspora who live in Europe and America. This will not enrich and bring a solution to the social development of Sool community. This will only add fuel to the fire of sool-community who will be divided and engulfed by their differences. It will also worsen the burning wounds that needed to be healed.
As I have mentioned in an earlier articles (The Somali Tragedy of Multiple States), It seems that the multiple states issue is a foreign driven initiative which probably is behind by the world powers and the regional powers who are fed up with Somalia crisis who want to solve Somalia’s problems by engaging what serves their interests.
Then let us see who gains what and who loses what…. !!
